| World Cup worth $240m to Auckland |

The 2011 Rugby World Cup is expected to be worth almost a quarter of a billion dollars to Auckland.
The finding comes in a report prepared for the Eden Park Trust Board by Horwath Asia Pacific Limited.
The consultancy firm estimates the event will contribute $240 million in additional GDP to the Auckland economy.
It expects over three-quarters of the money to come from overseas visitors.
The report was prepared last October as debate raged over whether Eden Park's $385 million redevelopment should get the nod, or if a new waterfront stadium should be built. |
